Vegan and so far so good.
Those who know me well know that I am a foodie, not in a ponce way hopefully, but really all types of food and lots of it. The body said ‘hello buster’ time for a rethink at least for while until the body is back in some sort of balance. I didn’t feel right was lacking in energy, my stomach was complaining madly and I had put on nearly 2 stone over the winter
As I said in last Blog it was not a massive leap for Teresa as she has been a Veggie for years but for me it was huge and to be honest I thought I would give up on it after a few days. The one thing that has kept me going is taste and plenty of it. Discovering the book ‘Deliciously Ella’ helped a lot and if you want to check her stuff out just put the title in Google and you will find her Blog and her You Tube stuff.
Some of the ingredients in her recipes are tricky to get in France the main one we had trouble with was coconut oil, but we found a health food shop in Clamecy that stocks it. The other ingredient she uses a lot is almond butter again we got it in Clamecy but you can make your own if you have a food processor by blending almonds until they form a butter. I am banging on so will stop now only to say finally that I feel really good, plenty of energy and losing weight.
We are having a really good trip so far meeting up with old friends and enjoying the wildlife which seems to be particular prevalent this year.
A pair of geese with their babies on the lake at the summit of the canal Briare
Sharing locks with Frank and Gill off Detente.
And enjoying a drink with them at close of play
Wild moored at the summit with a spectacular sunrise the following morning as seen above.
Anyone travelling the Briare canal I recommend you take one time out to stop on the summit it is glorious
Door turned up again on the way to Briare and we had to lock through with her, it was painful but thankfully did not last long !!
