We left Montceau after resting on our mooring for 6 months, and with special permission from the VNF we undertook the journey of 3K and 2 locks to Blanzy. Regular followers of our Blog will remember we came last year to do some serious painting as it is a splendid place with a great quay to unload the boat and paint from.
Before we left Montceau we did have an attempt to raise Lens boat but despite spirited efforts the attempt failed and the consensus was that if the boat was to be raised and recovered it would take some serious specialist equipment.
The good news that with a lot of effort and flotation bags Len’s boat was finally raised today, Friday 30 March.
We had a nice visit, last week from our old neighbour Fernando and his sister, and we had a splendid lunch at our favourite canal side restaurant.
Today is cleaning up and preparation to depart day, and also a fond farewell to the girls, Catherine, Isabella, and Nathalie, we will miss them and their support which has been absolutely splendid over the winter.
Goodbye Montceau, next year ???
