We finally left the mooring in Meaux this morning, Friday 28/5, only to be blocked at the first lock by lots of commercials held up by the strike yesterday. We arrived at the lock in Meaux at 08.00 and are still here as I type this at 10.05. We will be here for at least another hour before making a slow progress towards Paris. We will probably make Lagny tonight and then on to Paris tomorrow (Saturday)
Meaux was a good stop but we have now been here for a month and it is time to move on. We watched the moorhens making their nests and laying 7 eggs in 7 days but will not stop to see them hatched.
The Black swan arrived a couple of days ago and has joined us down by the lock, I think we probably fed it too much bread
I am looking forward to getting going after such a prolonged stop and we will tomorrow or Sunday have a tour of Paris going past the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower before turning and heading south
