Getting ready for the off

Yes, we are getting ready to leave Montceau our great winter stop which we will return to next winter.
We went to Blanzy for another few days last weekend to finish off the exterior painting and the boat is looking good for the upcoming season.

The other news this week is that I have achieved my 3 stone loss since 1 January this year, that’s 3 stone in 3 months, but not stopping there will now aim to lose another 3 stone over the summer, and if I do that by end of July, in 4 months, then I will apply to run the London marathon next April 2012 which will be 18 years after I last ran the course in 1984, but that means another 3 stone over next winter to get down to around 13 stone.  A tough task but at least I shall have a clear target and incentive to help me.

Next week we will be playing a flying, medical based, visit to the UK for check-ups and various tests.  It is a flying visit with two days travelling time and only allowing two full days in the UK, hectic but when we return next Friday we will spend a day preparing and washing clothes etc. before finally setting off west towards Decize for our assent up the Nivernais canal. We need to stop off in Ganny for about 3 days to have two extra batteries fitted to increase our ability to stop over in places without electric hook up.  There is Wi-Fi at Ganny and Decize so I should be able to keep up this blog on a regular weekly basis.

The weather is very good this week and the forecast for the next two weeks is also good and the good news is that we still have logs left, which means we used less than the 2 cubic meters of logs we bought at Genelard last October, that is terrific news as I now have a clear heating plan for next winter and we can budget accordingly.
