Now moored up in Venarey, and were treated to an overnight downpour and I could hear the plants and grass singing ‘thank you –thank you’. The ground had got so dry that the water levels were getting near critical so I lay in bed around 4am and smiled. Got up this morning, still raining and took Gladys out for her morning stretch and exercise and returned a bit wet but the rain was easing so a stroll into the town beckons and hopefully I can find a Wi-Fi hot spot to upload the numerous blog entries that have been waiting for days.
The following photos hopefully give a flavour of the last couple of days.
We are developing a pattern of travelling during the week and stopping primarily at the weekends, it is pure coincidence that most of the sport around the world involving English teams happens at the weekend. Last weekend, I watched Andy Murray struggle at the French open, a bit of golf from Wentworth, the Formula1 practice session and the European football final which saw Man U get a football lesson from Barca, later I shall watch the grand prix from Monaco and enjoy the final round from Wentworth, before playing a competitive game of boule with fellow boaters, John and Liz on Puddle Stone, I will then cook my lovely wife a fish pie for supper before crawling into bed around 11pm, not a bad day.
