Another great day dawned with a cloudless azure sky and we soon left the Canal du Centre and joined the Loire lateral canal the other side of Digoin. The canal was much busier on Sunday with several hire boats venturing onto the canals some for the first time, but no real problems. I did push on for Beaulon as we knew we had good electric there and water.
We made Beaulon by 5pm and were pleased to find a decent mooring and even better was the loud greeting by old friends Marco and Carmen an Italian couple we had met several times last season, their lovely boat ‘Hjeljun’ houses them and their three rescue dogs . They are a great couple and we spent a really nice two days with them. In fact day three turned into one of those ‘perfect days’.
