Day 170 –Sunday 16 September- Chatillon -Nivernais canal

Well we are now on the home straight, only about 50k from our winter mooring at Decize, but we are going to enjoy a sunny and warm weekend at Chatillon before moving to Decize next week.

There is still a lot of activity on the canal with plenty of hire boats whizzing about.  It can be quite funny to see the urgency of these hirers, having only one or two weeks on the boat they try to get as far as possible as quickly as possible.  I hope at least some get hooked on the waterways and get their own boat and spend more time and are able to slow down and smell the coffee.

The weather is changing and the days are getting shorter so there is an autumnal feeling in the air and the trees are just starting to change colour.  Today the weather is glorious and Chatillon looks its best in the bright sunshine.
