A good day in the snow

SAM_5240

Today was a day when we put all the boats in the port back on their summer quay location, leaving the port free for visiting boats. The only problem being it was freezing cold and snowing heavily, but spirits remained high.

The whole move took just over two  hours and we finished in time to retire to a local  restaurant to toast the day.

 A joke to finish

Two hillbillies walk into a restaurant. While having a bite to eat, they talk about their moonshine operation.

Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress. One of the hillbillies looks at her and says, ‘Kin ya swallar?’

The woman shakes her head no. Then he asks, ‘Kin ya breathe?’ The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.

The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right-butt cheek a lick with his tongue.

The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth.

As she begins to breathe again, the Hillbilly walks slowly back to his table. His partner says, ‘Ya know, I’d heerd of that there ‘Hind Lick Maneuver’ but I ain’t niver seed nobody do it!’

    BonJour mes amis,
Brrrr even here in this part of Canada, we haven’t seen a cold day like that in ages. (But I guess I shouldn’t get too smug, it can still snow here for another month or two ). Looks like a fun day ending with a good hot meal and a glass of cheer (or two).
We have been helping with dog walking our friends golden retriever while they are away in Oz. Today is our turn to do the morning walk so it’s off into the wet morning for a bit of exercise.
    Cheers, Chris

    Hello Terry and Terry.
Thanks for all the comments you send us about your trips on the waterways and with your camping car. We can see that you are doing well. We are really sorry to have been so silent and we sincerely apologize.
These two last years, we had serious health worries, with stays in hospital for operations, but things are back to normal now.
after five years, we returned on our dear Canal du Midi where the Winter weather is so pleasant (especially after two Winters spent on the Canal des Vosges).
The nights are cold but the température is between 16 and 19 degrees. With the sun shining, it is perfect, specially on the terrasse of a bar.
The negative point is the scenary after the felling of the poor plane trees, poisonned by a mushroom. A part of the 42,000 trees has already been destroyed and burnt on the spot in order to prevent the developing of the illness.
When we arrived in Régismont-le-Haut, which has been our favourite spot all these 15 years, we hardly recognized the place without its plane ceiling.

We are thinking of selling the boat as we have other travel plans: renting (or exchanging with our flat of Béziers) a small flat 2 or 3 months, twice a year, somewhere in Europe and being able to discover the country with a car.
Selling a boat is not very easy now….. We are ten years late!

If you decide to go to the South West with the camping car, please let us know. We shall be happy to see you again and check how your knowledge of the French langage has improved
    Mille bonnes pensées
    Jean-Max et Catherine
