Yes great weather and time to get back to Decize. The canal is now open after a prolonged closure. We are preparing for the off on Monday. It should take two and a half days to get there if the lock keepers are in position and all the locks are working again. Its always a bit of an adventure this early in the season and you feel a bit like a pioneer.
Before we left we moved all the boats, that had been in the basin over winter to their summer quay, then took all the fellow boaters to a local restaurant for lunch and to say goodbye.
Then time for the off.
A bit sad to be leaving a very lovely winter mooring with good people and if it was a bit closer to our field we would have stayed.
visiting wildlife on route to Decize
a full moon on our first night, slightly more egg shaped than usual.
the dramatic lock at Le Guetin, half way to Decize.
The famous blue bike at lock 24, it has been there for 8 year to our knowledge, just gives a bit of flair.
We also picked up a passenger for the last part of our journey. This lovely lady is Flore who sold us our bit of land and we promised to give a ride in the boat to when we returned to Decize. She had a great time.
Settled onto our regular mooring, and collected the car, all is right in our world , well not quite in the rest but it was forever thus.
