getting slimmer and progress up the field

Posted from Garnat-sur-Engièvre, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France.

The aim was always to lose  7 stone,  why you ask .  Well back in 1984 I ran the London Marathon, I  still have my medal and  a photo crossing the finishing line with a great big grin of satisfaction.  I was 14 stone 7 lbs at the time and fitter than I have ever been.  At the start of this year I was 21 stone 7 lbs and not at all fit.  I had been given a health fright before christmas last year and my French doctor had laid the bare facts on the table, and my daughter had suggested we could both do the long walk known as  the Camino next year.   So the decision was made lose 7 stone and get fit.

This was me before Christmas last year

and building the deck last summer

This was me today, 4 1/2 stone down and 2 1/2 to go

Same T-shirt in all  the photos, must buy some new T-shirts!

The Hygge field is making progress, I have building the remaining raised beds for the permaculture garden area and Tes has been busty filling them with lots of lovely veg and fruit plants.  We have been eating our own strawberries every day and enjoying our own salad ,  why does it  taste so much nicer ?

We have moved the boat, slightly, about 200 meters!!

nice and shady now though as the temperatures have been very high lately plus some heavy rain,  making everything grow well.

Congratulations for all your efforts. We know how changing the way of eating, resisting temptation is hard…..
Also we are looking forward discovering your garden. We are thinking of leaving the canal du Midi this Summer for West Burgondy and shall be really happy to see you again. A bientôt !!!

Wow, the word “svelte” is starting to come to mind. Not quite there but very close. Well done.

You must be looking forward to the day when you get to start to enjoy your delicious home grown veggies. Between eating them and doing the work required to grow them you will be shedding a few more pounds. Keep up the good work.

    Cheers, Chris & Betsey
